Sleeping Lion Farm in Cooperstown, NY is seeking a part-time Farm Manager to oversee day-to-day operations. The role includes 10-15 hours per week with a flexible schedule, plus potential farmland access to start a personal agricultural venture, pending approvals.

Housing options may be available on-site in two 2-bedroom units at an affordable rate. Responsibilities include feeding, fencing, mowing, occasional cattle handling, local beef deliveries, and restocking the farmstand.

Qualifications

• Ability to self-manage completion of assigned tasks.
• Experience operating a tractor and basic maintenance.
• Experience with livestock fence building.
• Experience with handling cattle or other livestock.
• Ability to lift heavy objects up to 100 lb.

Responsibilities

• Lead day-to-day operations on the farm property.
• Assist with infrastructure projects and cattle herd growth.
• Perform daily chores for the beef herd, including feeding hay and moving fence lines.
• Mow and weed trim, construct perimeter fencing with guidance.
• Occasional cattle handling and local beef deliveries.
• Restock the farmstand and support seasonal farm operations.
