Qualifications

• Available for two 12-hour shifts per week, 8:00 AM to 8:00 PM, including every other weekend.
• Calm and efficient when walk-ins surge on top of a full schedule.

Responsibilities

• Provide primary care for patients of all ages: wellness visits, chronic disease management, preventive care, and sick visits.
• Diagnose and treat acute conditions for walk-in patients, including UTIs.
• Perform Pap tests for patients with normal histories and refer concerning cases to the women's health practice next door.
• Review day's appointments, labs, and prescriptions at shift start in the EMR.
• Delegate routine lab result calls to MAs and contact patients about abnormal results.
• Collaborate with RN and MAs to keep patients moving and reduce wait times.
• Complete and sign charts by the end of your shift.

Job Overview

Join a busy walk-in and primary care family clinic in Lutz, FL (north Tampa area) as a part-time Family Nurse Practitioner. You’ll work two 12-hour shifts a week and care for a true cross-section of the community. About half of your patients are children and teens, and visits are roughly half walk-ins and half scheduled, covering wellness visits, chronic disease management, preventive care, and sick visits. You’ll have real support: an RN, about four MAs who handle phlebotomy, scribing, and routine lab result calls, and a team of NPs who help each other so everyone finishes on time. Charting is typically signed by the end of your shift, so you’re out the door at 8. No controlled substances are prescribed, so no DEA is needed. New graduate NPs with at least 2 years of recent ER experience are welcome, and there’s a path to full-time for the right fit.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide primary care for patients of all ages: wellness visits, chronic disease management, preventive care, and sick visits
• Diagnose and treat acute conditions for walk-in patients, including common issues such as UTIs
• Perform Pap tests for patients with normal histories, and refer patients with any concerning history to the women’s health practice next door
• At the start of your shift, review the day’s appointments, outstanding labs, and prescription refills in the EMR
• Delegate routine lab result calls and patient messages to the MAs, and call patients yourself about abnormal results
• Work with the RN and MAs to keep patients moving and wait times short
• Complete and sign charts by the end of your shift

Qualifications

• Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP) certification
• At least 2 years of experience as an NP, OR a new graduate NP with at least 2 years of emergency room experience, with the most recent ER experience within the past year
• Experience caring for pediatric patients, including young children
• Basic GYN experience, including Pap tests
• Available for two 12-hour shifts per week (8:00 AM to 8:00 PM), including every other weekend
• Calm and efficient when walk-ins surge on top of a full schedule

Schedule & Compensation

• $50 to $85/hour, based on experience
• Part-time 1099 independent contractor | Two 12-hour shifts per week, 8:00 AM to 8:00 PM, including every other weekend
• Charting typically finished and signed by end of shift
• Slower stretches for charting, and lunch whenever you want it
• Closed on major holidays
• RN and about 4 MAs on-site | MAs handle routine lab result calls and patient messages
• No DEA required (no controlled substances prescribed)
