Job description

The New School is a progressive university located in Greenwich Village that offers seven distinct divisions aimed at educating and inspiring undergraduate, graduate, and adult learners.

Responsibilities

• Teaching graduate and/or undergraduate students within a defined field of expertise.
• Developing and managing course syllabi and ensuring that syllabi meet Program and School standards.
• Planning and creating lectures, discussions, and course assignments.
• Assessing student learning outcomes and aiding student success.
• Submitting grades in a timely manner.

Qualifications

• A terminal degree in the field of specialty is preferred (MFA, Ph.D., ABD, or equivalent).
• 2‑3 years of teaching experience with a variety of teaching methods and curricular perspectives, preferably in a College, University, and/or Art and Design school setting.
• Ability to work with diverse students and colleagues.
• Proven success creating inclusive classrooms.
• Ability to adhere to University COVID‑19 Policy and requirements.

Hourly Rate

Studio: $127.50/hr; Seminar: $151/hr
