Biology Department seeks Instructors to teach the following class:
Microbiology for Health Professionals (Fall 2026): A sophomore level 3-credit microbiology course designed to prepare future health professionals. This course is a foundational course that covers basic physiological and biochemical activities of bacteria and viruses with an emphasis on virulence factors, mechanisms of infection, the use of anti-viral and antibiotic drugs, the host immune response, and efficacy of vaccination strategies. Enrollment cap is 80.
Class times:
MWF 1-1:50pm
The expected per course rate (paid over 4 months) for this position ranges from $8,055 - $9,100. The actual pay offered to the selected candidate will be determined based on the number of cumulative courses taught at Boston College. In addition, part time faculty in the Biology Department have shared office space to prepare lectures and meet with students. Responsibilities include:
Qualifications: Instructors teaching lecture courses must have an MS, PhD, or other advanced degree in an appropriate field of study. We will consider post-doctoral fellows seeking university teaching experience.
