Responsibilities

  • Prepares and delivers instruction to students in assigned modalities and prepares instructional materials.
  • Provides feedback on student progress and evaluates mastery of outcomes.
  • Prepares and submits required documentation (syllabi, attendance, grades).
  • Maintains and disseminates information on services available to students.
  • Follows college policies and maintains professional conduct.
  • Pursues professional development and growth as required for certification.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Position Details
  • An Associate’s degree or higher from a Dental Hygiene program accredited by the Commission on Dental Accreditation or related field [required]
  • An active and unencumbered State of Florida Registered Dental Hygiene license [required]
  • Two years of full-time, direct dental hygiene practice or equivalent part-time [preferred]
  • This position will require day clinical shifts at The Winter Garden Health Department.
  • Must be able to travel locally on a flexible schedule, as needed.
  • Please note that you will need to establish Florida residency within 30 days from your start date if selected for this position.
  • Selected candidates recommended for hire may be required to complete pre-employment screenings as a condition of employment, which may include but are not limited to: a criminal background check, drug screening, professional reference verification, and driver’s license verification. The Office of Organizational Development and Human Resources (ODHR) will confirm applicable requirements during the hiring process.
Salary Information
  • Associate’s: $27.53 per hour
  • Bachelor’s: $30.041per hour
  • Master’s: $32.71 per hour
  • Doctorate: $36.40 per hour

Essential Job Functions

Description of Job Function

1. Prepares and delivers instruction to students in assigned modalities (including classroom, hybrid, online, etc.). Prepares instructional materials. Provides feedback on students’ progress, including evaluation of student mastery of course and program outcomes. 2. Provides feedback to students in matters related to academic success in a timely manner. 3. Prepares and submits required documentation including course syllabi, student attendance, final course grades, and other information as requested or required by the college. 4. Maintains and disseminates current information pertaining to services available to students throughout the college. 5. Is familiar with and maintains behavior and actions consistent with college policies. 6. Maintains professional development/growth according to personal needs and requirements for certification. 7. Performs other duties as assigned.

General Working Conditions

This job primarily operates in a professional office environment. The employee will routinely operate standard office equipment including but not limited to computers, keyboards, mouse, phones, photocopiers, printers, scanners, filing cabinets and fax machines. While performing the duties of this job, the noise level in the work environment is usually quiet to moderate. Typical physical competencies include but are not limited to frequently remaining stationary, moving, reaching, positioning self and occasionally ascending/descending, lifting/moving objects weighing between 5-15 pounds. This job also entails frequently communicating, discerning and exchanging information, detecting and perceiving objects up close, at a distance, and the ability to adjust focus. Cognitive abilities include but are not limited to frequently using discretion, judgment, reasoning, memory, learning, maintaining confidentiality, comprehension, problem solving, and decision-making. The typical work environment, physical and cognitive demands listed above are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. Job specific working conditions

This job also operates in a classroom setting and may use equipment such as microphones and audio/videorecorders. Must be able to work a flexible schedule, including occasional evenings or weekends, as needed. Must be able to travel locally on a flexible schedule, as needed. Must have reliable transportation, and proof of liability and property damage insurance on the vehicle used may be required.
