Job summary

Umpqua Community College in Roseburg, OR seeks a Part-Time Automotive Instructor for a pool position. You will teach automotive courses in all modalities, bring current industry knowledge, and engage students with practical and theory-based learning.

The role emphasizes service to the college and student support, professional development, and collaboration with colleagues to advance career pathways for the next generation in automotive technology.

Qualifications

• Commensurate with State of Oregon requirements of respective academic and/or technical field.
• For CTE faculty, this includes: Associate degree or the equivalent
• At least 3 years of experience
• Current ASE certification in areas of instruction
• Ability to become certified in certification areas infused into the program (nc3, Snap‑on, Toyota, Chrysler, and Subaru)

Responsibilities

• Facilitate learning using up to date pedagogy, technology, and discipline knowledge in all modalities.
• Teach in all modalities and stay current with new modalities in higher education.
• Engage in service to the college and student support activities.

Faculty Part-Time

The position of Automotive Instructor is a pooled position and applications will be reviewed on an as needed, on-going basis.

Although facilitating learning is the most important role of the faculty, the needs of learners are also served when faculty are engaged in service to the college and student support activities.

Required Qualifications

• A minimum of 5 years community college teaching experience
• A minimum of five years of verifiable experience related to the field
• Online instruction experience preferred, classroom teaching experience desirable
• A bachelor’s degree is preferred for CTE faculty
