Part-Time Facility/Grounds Maintenance Worker

Cleveland County Water (CCW) is a Sanitary District located in Cleveland County, NC. CCW is currently seeking qualified applicants for the position of Part-Time Facility/Grounds Maintenance Worker. The assigned work location for this position will be located in Lawndale, NC 28090.

The Part-Time Facility/Grounds Maintenance Worker position performs intermediate manual work cleaning and maintaining buildings and facilities, performing basic grounds maintenance work, and related work as apparent or assigned. Assists in the construction, repair, and maintenance of CCW trails, facilities, and equipment, maintains landscaping, which may include planting grass, trees, or shrubs, mowing grass, removing weeds, spraying chemicals, laying gravel, fertilizing, and watering, operates power and hand tools in the performance of duties, trims and cuts trees using a chainsaw as needed, maintains facilities ensuring they are clean and ready for use, paints and performs carpentry and other trades duties as needed, opens parks and facilities for operation which may include opening gates, raising flags, and turning off alarm systems, empties trash and restocks facility supplies. Work is performed under the moderate supervision of the assigned supervisor.

A high school diploma or GED and minimal experience with general knowledge of building cleaning practices, supplies, and equipment, and ability to use them economically and efficiently; ability to understand oral and written directions; ability to read and write; physical ability to perform intermediate manual work; ability to work independently; ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with clientele, fellow employees and the general public.

Possession of a valid driver’s license in the State of North Carolina is required upon hire.
