Job summary

YMCA of the Chippewa Valley is seeking a part-time maintenance/cleaning assistant to uphold the cleanliness and appearance of our fitness facility. You will assist with general cleaning, equipment maintenance, and event setup while ensuring safety and adherence to policies.

The role involves evening and weekend shifts, ability to lift up to 50 pounds, and routine reporting of safety concerns. Training and certifications are available to support growth.

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years of age or older.
• Must successfully pass a background check.
• Ability to go up and down stairs and perform physical tasks.
• Knowledge of cleaning methods, tools, and equipment.
• Understanding of cleaning compounds and chemicals, including their safe and efficient use.

Responsibilities

• Maintain overall cleanliness and appearance of the YMCA fitness facility.
• Perform wet and dust mopping, dusting, trash removal, window washing, pool cleaning, painting, vacuuming and carpet shampooing.
• Assist with closing the building and cleaning locker rooms, bathrooms and showers; replace supplies.
• Keep fitness equipment clean; inspect program areas for issues and perform repairs as needed.
• Set up and clean up for special events and arrange furniture as required.
• Assist with special projects; keep offices clean and free of clutter; ensure parking lots are litter-free.
• Report safety concerns promptly and operate related equipment.
