Job summary

Osceola County Government seeks a Parks Attendant to provide public service at the Austin Tindall Sports Complex and Osceola County Parks and Public Lands. Responsibilities include guest greeting, cash handling, and basic facility upkeep.

Duty includes assisting with batting cages reservations, opening/closing for public use, enforcing safety rules, cleaning restrooms, and supporting field preparation tasks such as chalking lines and laying sod as needed. Experience in customer service preferred.

Qualifications

• Willing to work nights, weekends and holidays.

Responsibilities

To provide service to the general public and provide maintenance to machinery at Austin Tindall Sports Complex and/or Osceola County Parks and Public Lands.

Essential Job Functions

• Greets guests throughout various areas of the complex.
• Responsible for monies received and equipment issued
• Assists with batting cages reservations and the opening and closing for Public use.
• Enforces rules in order to keep guests safe.
• Process event ticket sales for entering the complex.
• Performs a wide variety of janitorial tasks, i.e. clean, sanitizes, maintains, and provides the general upkeep of grounds and building facilities.
• Empties and relines trash containers and waste receptacles; disposes of waste appropriately.
• Cleans and maintains restroom facilities, e.g. toilets, sinks, mirrors, dispensers, floors; replaces paper supplies and fills soap dispensers in restrooms.
• Assists maintenance staff in basic lawn care and landscaping tasks, e.g. remove weeds, lays sod, spreads seeds, plants foliage and shrubbery, trimming landscape.
• Assists in basic field preparation duties, e.g. chalk field, paint athletic field lines, lay down field drying agent, remove and replace bases and mound, rake infield drying agent, set and/or remove corner flags, benches, trash cans, and bleachers.

Education

Minimum Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED.

Miscellaneous

• Must possess and maintain a valid Florida Driver's License.
• Must be willing to work nights, weekends and holidays.

Knowledge, Skills And Abilities

• Ability to use basic hand tools.
• Knowledge of cash register operations for money handling and transactions.
• Ability to follow oral and written instructions.
