MIDCOAST MAINE COMMUNITY ACTION is seeking a Facilities Technician for its central office and Head Start facilities in Bath, ME. This part-time role focuses on maintenance, repairs, custodial tasks, and inspections to support children, families, and staff across midcoast Maine.

The position requires a high school diploma and at least six months of related experience, with comfort in using computers and work orders.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• At least six months of related experience.
• Basic custodial, carpentry, painting, and general repair skills.
• Ability to work independently, meet deadlines, and follow through on priorities.
• Clear, professional communication with staff, tenants, clients, contractors, vendors, and funding partners.
• Comfort using computers, word processing, and spreadsheets; online work-order experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Complete maintenance, repair, and custodial assignments for MMCA properties on time and to agency standards.
• Respond to work orders from staff and tenants, communicate progress, and provide weekly status reports.
• Recommend repair and routine-maintenance solutions, including scope of work and proposed schedules.
• Respond to urgent facility needs and coordinate with the Facilities Manager when needed.
• Complete quarterly inspections at Head Start locations and share findings with program leadership.
• Maintain organized, accurate records and prepare paperwork for billing and accounts payable.
• Help inspect completed work to confirm that quality and requirements are met.
• Protect the confidentiality of client and agency information.
