Job summary

Monson Public Schools in Monson, Massachusetts seeks a Facilities Maintenance Worker to perform skilled and semi-skilled maintenance, custodial support, and grounds upkeep. You will ensure safe, clean, and functional facilities, reporting to the Head of Maintenance in a full-time twelve-month role.

The position requires a high school diploma or GED, MA driver’s license, and relevant maintenance experience; snow removal and HVAC/MEchanical knowledge are a plus.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Three (3) years of experience in building maintenance, construction trades, or related field preferred.
• Valid Massachusetts driver's license with satisfactory driving record.
• Experience with snow plowing, snow removal, and grounds maintenance preferred.
• Working knowledge of carpentry, painting, plumbing, electrical, HVAC systems, and general building maintenance.
• Ability to safely operate power tools and maintenance equipment.
• Ability to read and follow written and verbal instructions.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventative maintenance and routine repairs to buildings, grounds, and equipment.
• Complete work orders involving carpentry, painting, plumbing, electrical, and general repairs.
• Assist with HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and mechanical systems inspection and minor repair.
• Conduct routine facility and grounds inspections to identify safety concerns.
• Perform seasonal grounds maintenance including mowing, trimming, and leaf removal.
• Assist with snow and ice removal and apply ice-control materials as needed.
• Set up and break down classrooms and facilities for events.
