Job summary

Theuniversityunion is seeking a Part-Time Custodian in Raleigh, NC to keep the YMCA building and surrounding areas clean and well-maintained. You will support maintenance tasks, assist with events, and ensure a safe environment during shifts.

The role requires reliable, detail-oriented individuals able to work evenings or weekends. Responsibilities include cleaning, inventorying supplies, and reporting repairs.

Qualifications

• Six months or more of related experience preferred.
• Ability to read and interpret instructions, procedures, manuals, and other documents.
• Ability to report and record maintenance requests.
• Knowledge of cleaning methods and equipment.
• Basic understanding of upkeep and care of equipment.
• Understanding of cleaning compounds and chemicals, and their safe, efficient use.
• Ability to relate effectively to diverse groups of people from all social and economic segments of the community.
• Ability to work independently, plan, and organize.
• Must obtain certifications through YMCA in First Aid and Administering Emergency Oxygen within first 30 days of hire.
• Multilingual desired but not required.

Responsibilities

• Maintain clean and orderly building interiors and exteriors.
• Set up furniture for events and assist with related duties.
• Ensure safety and security of building; report hazards to supervisor.
• Operate cleaning equipment and manage supplies.
• Record and report needed repairs; perform repairs as directed.
• Stock and replace soap, paper towels, and other supplies.
• May assist with maintenance tasks as assigned.
• Work nights and weekends to cover shifts.
