Job summary

YMCA of Southeastern NC is seeking a dependable Custodian to keep the Women’s Locker Room, restrooms, and common areas clean and welcoming. This part-time role runs Monday through Friday, 2:00 PM to 7:00 PM, supporting daily branch operations and promoting a safe, healthy environment for members, guests, and staff.

Responsibilities include cleaning, restocking supplies, assisting with event setup, and following safety protocols.

Qualifications

• Commercial cleaning or housekeeping experience preferred.
• Ability to work independently and complete tasks with attention to detail.
• Strong understanding of cleanliness and sanitation and how it supports member satisfaction.
• Ability to provide courteous customer service to staff and members.
• Ability to safely use cleaning equipment and chemical products.
• Ability to perform physical duties including standing, walking, bending, kneeling, reaching overhead, lifting/carrying, and working in confined spaces.
• Ability to understand and follow written and verbal instructions.

Responsibilities

• Maintain cleanliness of the Women’s Locker Room, restrooms, and other assigned areas.
• Restock soap, paper towels, toilet paper, and other facility supplies.
• Support branch operations by assisting with room set-ups for events and programs.
• Assist with preventative maintenance tasks and general facility upkeep.
• Assist with general upkeep of building grounds as assigned.
• Ensure the facility and property are secure during assigned shift and report hazards or maintenance concerns.
