Brown and Caldwell in California is seeking an Affiliate, Executive Director for a part-time engagement (8-12 hours per week) with a focus on leading strategy and stakeholder engagement for a nonprofit client focused on sustainable urban water.

The role requires deep knowledge of California water issues, strong governance experience, and the ability to collaborate with the Board and external partners to advance mission, policy, and program delivery.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 15 years of professional leadership experience.
• Bachelor's or Master's degree preferred in technical, business, or related field.
• Water sector experience and California network preferred.
• Ability to attend Board and committee meetings throughout California.

Responsabilités

• Provide executive leadership and strategic direction for the client organization.
• Partner with the Board to advance strategic priorities and initiatives.
• Serve as advisor on California water issues and policy developments.
• Prepare briefings and policy recommendations for the Board.
• Represent the organization with agencies, associations, and NGOs.
• Lead Board and committee meetings and drive effective decision-making.
• Support financial and operational sustainability through budgeting and partnerships.
• Mentor and manage a team with alignment to mission and strategy.
• Adapt to evolving needs and take on additional assignments.
