Job summary

Galveston College is seeking a part-time Test Proctor to oversee secure testing environments for exams. You will monitor sessions, verify IDs, and enforce policies while providing excellent customer service.

Previous testing or education experience is preferred, but not required; flexibility to work evenings and Saturdays is expected. The role requires strong attention to detail, reliability, and the ability to follow established protocols.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required; associate degree or higher preferred.
• Strong customer service and communication skills.
• Ability to learn procedures and follow protocols.
• Proficiency with basic computer software and online applications.
• Flexible schedule, including evenings and Saturdays.
• Must not be a Galveston College student.
• Subject to a criminal background check prior to employment.
• Applicants must be Texas residents or willing to relocate; Galveston College is not registered for employment outside of the state of Texas.

Responsibilities

• Earns and maintains required exam sponsor certifications.
• Provide proctoring to ensure a secure testing environment.
• Administer accommodated exams per Office of Special Services.
• Follow testing procedures and contract test provider guidelines.
• Open and close site daily, download exams, and follow schedule.
• Verify student IDs and control access to testing lab(s).
• Record academic dishonesty and exam discrepancies.
• Troubleshoot online exam apps and contact sponsor IT support.
• Coordinate with IT help desk for hardware support.
• Maintain confidential student records and testing information.
• Maintain a professional testing center and sanitize stations.
• Lift up to 20 lbs; move between desks and testing rooms.
• Other duties as assigned.
