Job summary

The Nashville Symphony Association is seeking a Part-time Event Steward to support set-up and teardown for weddings, parties, and other events at the Schermerhorn Symphony Center. The role requires a positive attitude, a flexible schedule, and a willingness to learn proper event procedures.

Responsibilities include moving and cleaning tables and chairs, coordinating items for events, maintaining a safe, organized workspace, complying with health and safety codes, and assisting with general event

Qualifications

• High School or GED.
• At least one year of catering and event management experience.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and stand for extended periods.

Responsibilities

• Perform cleaning, safe movement, and storage of tables, chairs, and wares.
• Use proper cleaning supplies and techniques for equipment.
• Assist in coordination and delivery of items for events.
• Maintain an organized, hazard-free work area and post safety materials.
• Lift, move, and transport equipment and tools safely.
• Keep receiving and storage areas clean and orderly.
• Complete tasks on banquet event orders and set-up/daily schedules.
• Ensure compliance with health and safety codes and policies.
• Remove trash and dispose of it properly.
