Job summary

The Florida State Fair Authority seeks a part-time Event Services Technician to help prepare the Florida State Fairgrounds for a variety of events. You will assist with event setup, maintain facilities, support exhibitors and ensure spaces are clean, safe, and ready for guests.

This role is ideal for someone who enjoys physical, team-oriented work and delivering memorable experiences. Assignments vary with events and staffing needs, and you may support custodial operations, room resets, and

Qualifications

High School Diploma or GED required.
Valid Florida Driver License with acceptable driving record.
Ability to obtain certification to operate forklifts, aerial lifts, utility vehicles, or other equipment as required.
Ability to work evenings, weekends, holidays, and extended hours based on event schedules.

Responsibilities

Perform event setup, reconfiguration, and teardown of tables, chairs, staging, pipe and drape, barricades, fencing, portable flooring, and other equipment according to floor plans and schedules.
Maintain cleanliness and readiness of buildings, meeting rooms, restrooms, and public areas.
Read and execute work orders and floor plans with accuracy and efficiency.
Assist with exhibitor, vendor, client, and contractor move-in/move-out with professional customer service.
Perform waste management and routine/ deep cleaning of assigned facilities.
Operate department vehicles and equipment following safety procedures.
Inspect facilities and equipment, reporting needs and issues promptly.
Support room resets, equipment staging, and storage organization.
