Job summary

The University of Wisconsin is seeking an Event Security professional to join BEST Crowd Management. This part-time role blends event staff duties with security tasks to create a safe, enjoyable experience for attendees at events managed by BEST Crowd Management.

You will monitor access, assist with setup, provide directions, and coordinate with security and staff to ensure safe crowds. This role requires strong communication, teamwork, and a commitment to safety.

Qualifications

• Be at least 18 years old.
• High school diploma or equivalent; some college preferred.
• Experience in event security or related field is advantageous.
• Strong physical fitness to stand or walk for extended periods.
• Excellent observational and problem-solving skills.
• Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work in a team with diverse backgrounds.
• Flexible to work evenings, weekends, and holidays.
• Possess a valid security license or willingness to obtain one if required.
• Pass background check and drug screening.

Responsibilities

• Assist with event setup, including equipment, signage, and materials.
• Monitor access points and conduct security checks to prevent unauthorized entry.
• Provide friendly customer service with inquiries, directions, and information.
• Collaborate with event staff and security to maintain safety and order.
• Assist in crowd management and control entry/exit flow.
• Respond to security incidents or emergencies per established protocols.
• Monitor areas to enforce event rules and safety procedures.
• Handle attendee complaints or conflicts calmly and professionally.
• Adhere to company policies and guidelines to ensure high service and security standards.
