Job summary

Iowa Western Community College in Council Bluffs, IA is seeking a Part-Time Evening & Weekend Facility Supervisor for the Marshall Wellness Center. The role provides general oversight during evenings and weekends, prioritizing front-line customer service to students, employees, and visitors.

You will supervise student and part-time staff, enforce center policies, and coordinate with the Director to maintain a safe, welcoming fitness environment within the 92,000-square-foot facility.

Qualifications

• Associate’s Degree required.
• CPR/AED and First Aid certification from American Heart Association or American Red Cross (or obtained within 60 days of hire).
• Experience in a customer-service related field delivering first-rate service daily.
• Experience with diverse backgrounds and ability to diffuse conflicts.

Iowa Western is currently seeking a Part-Time Evening & Weekend Facility Supervisor for the Dr. John & Jean Marshall Wellness Center. This position reports to the Director of the Dr. John & Jean Marshall Wellness Center. The Evening & Weekend Supervisor provides general oversight of the Marshall Wellness Center during evening and weekend hours, emphasizing quality front-line customer service to students, employees, and visitors. The Evening & Weekend Supervisor provides guidance and oversight to student and part-time workers for the Marshall Wellness Center, a 92,000-square foot multi-use fitness and recreation facility that opened in fall 2019 and features state-of-the-art cardio and strength training equipment, basketball and volleyball courts, and an 80-yard indoor field turf.

Job Duties

• Provide guidance and support to student employees in the management of the Marshall Wellness Center.
• Provide high-quality customer service to members and guests of the Marshall Wellness Center.

• Experience that demonstrates sensitivity to and an understanding of the diverse academic, socioeconomic, cultural, ethnic, and disabled backgrounds of community college students and that illustrates the ability to problem-solve, confront policy violators, and diffuse volatile situations.
