The Putney School seeks an hourly, part-time evening library assistant to work from 6:00 pm to 9:30 pm, on Mondays and/or Fridays. The evening librarian supervises the library during evening hours, helping students with reference needs and maintaining a study-friendly atmosphere.

They also process and shelve books as part of daily duties. Additional responsibilities include basic cataloging of new books, circulation tasks, computer support, inventory control at the checkout desk, and supporting

Competenze

• Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience in a school library.

Mansioni

• Supervises the library during evening hours, often overseeing up to 70 teenagers, while maintaining a conducive atmosphere for study.
• Shelving and shelf-reading, including basic book processing and cataloging of new books.
• Reference desk assistance and basic computer and copier troubleshooting.
• Monitors the checkout desk and maintains inventory control.
• Other duties as assigned.
