Job summary

Citizens Memorial Hospital in Bolivar, Missouri is seeking an evening Lab Assistant/Phlebotomist for a part-time schedule. You will perform specimen collection, process tests, and support inpatient and outpatient labs.

Requires a high school diploma and CPR within 6 months; one year or more experience preferred, including diverse patient populations; able to stand, lift up to 25 lbs, and assist with receptionist duties and safety protocols.

Qualifications

• Education: High school diploma or equivalent required; 1-3 months on-the-job training in phlebotomy preferred
• Experience: One year or more experience preferred, including working with adults, pediatrics, infants and geriatric populations
• Licensure/Certification: Friends and Family CPR within 6 months of employment
• Physical Requirements: Prolonged standing and walking; lift up to 25 lbs; good vision and hand coordination

Responsibilities

• Verifying patients’ identities and entering this information into the computer
• Explaining the sample collection process to patients and answering questions
• Following hygiene rules and chain of custody protocols
• Performing receptionist duties such as greeting and directing patients and filing tasks
• Completing cleaning, stocking, and sanitation tasks
