Job summary

BlueCross BlueShield of South Carolina is seeking a part-time Customer Service Advocate II to join our team. You will handle routine inquiries by phone and email related to claims or appeals, and identify and correct incorrectly processed claims through adjustments and reprocessing actions.

The position is 20 hours per week, Monday-Friday, with on-site work at 200 North Dozier Boulevard, Florence, SC 29501. Sponsorship is not offered for this role, and confidentiality and accuracy are essential.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• 2+ years customer service OR 1 year claims/appeals + 1 year customer service; or Bachelor's degree in lieu of experience.
• Strong verbal and written communication and customer service skills.
• Basic business math; discretion with confidential information.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office.

Responsibilities

• Respond to telephone inquiries according to desk procedures, ensuring timeliness, productivity, and quality.
• Respond to written inquiries and identify and correct improperly processed claims; initiate recoupments as needed.
• Identify complex complaints/inquiries and refer to lead/manager for resolution; report potential fraud.
• Complete projects related to claims processing and customer service in the department.
