BlueCross BlueShield of South Carolina is seeking a Claims Technician to perform a variety of routine clerical tasks and data verification to support timely claims processing. This on-site role requires attention to detail and discretion handling sensitive information.

The position is full-time, Monday–Friday, 8:00am–5:00pm, located at 2141 West Gate Place, Florence, SC 29501, offering comprehensive benefits and opportunities within the company.

Qualifications

• Required Education: High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Strong organizational and analytical skills.
• Good communication and organizational abilities.
• Detail-oriented with discretion handling confidential information.

Responsibilities

• Receives, sorts and distributes incoming mail or work requests.
• Checks workflow documents to ensure information is available.
• Requests missing documentation as needed.
• Scans documents for storage in the electronic repository.
• Prepares correspondence or packages for mailing.
• Screens and verifies information.
• Ensures proper processing flow of paper claims and correspondence.
• Conducts data element verification prior to claims adjudication.
• Applies indexes to claims and correspondence.
• Maintains departmental logs, spreadsheets or databases.
• Keeps track of supply inventory and orders supplies as needed.
