Job summary

CAMBA Education Center in Brooklyn, NY is seeking a Part-Time English Instructor to support ESOL learners in a community-based setting. You will develop instructional materials, teach adults, and monitor progress to help students advance academically and in their careers.

Responsibilities include creating lesson plans, maintaining attendance, and collaborating with case managers to address barriers while offering ongoing professional development opportunities in a supportive environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Education or relevant field.
• One year of applicable/equivalent experience.
• Good written and verbal communication skills.
• Good interpersonal skills.
• Proficiency in Outlook, Word, and Excel.

Responsibilities

• Instruct adults in academic and/or nonacademic subjects using a thematic and communicative approach.
• Research and develop instructional materials and lesson plans.
• Maintain daily student attendance records and prepare progress reports.
• Prepare and distribute instructional materials for classroom/homework use.
• Coordinate with case managers to help students progress toward goals.
• Attend workshops and professional development sessions as scheduled.
