Ventura County Community College District invites applications for Part-Time ESL Instructor in Non-Credit Instruction. This pool covers Oxnard, Moorpark, and Ventura campuses and remains open for the Fall 2026 and Spring 2027 semesters for future vacancies.

Under the general direction of a dean, an Instructor provides classroom instruction to students from diverse backgrounds, with flexibility to teach up to 67% of a full‑time assignment. Applications retained for vacancies.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in teaching English as a second language or TESOL.
• Bachelor’s degree in education, English, linguistics, applied linguistics, any foreign language, composition, bilingual/bicultural studies, reading, or speech; and a certificate in teaching English as a second language.
• Bachelor’s degree with listed majors and one year ESL teaching experience; TESL certificate may be completed within two years.
• Possession of a full‑time California Designated Subjects Adult Education Teaching Credential or equivalent.
• All coursework must be from a recognized accredited college or university.

Responsibilities

• Provide academic instruction through lecture, lab, or performance courses to diverse students.
• Advise students on programs of study and available resources.
• Observe and evaluate student performance and provide timely feedback.
• Plan instruction aligned with course outlines and student learning outcomes.
• Maintain accurate records of enrollment, attendance, and progress.
• Evaluate and select instructional materials in collaboration with faculty.
• Update course content and syllabi to reflect new developments.
• Participate in curriculum development and meetings as needed.
• May participate in articulation and matriculation activities.
• May provide work direction to others.
