Job summary

The American Language Center in Huntingdon Valley, PA seeks a Part-Time ESL Instructor / Academic Assistant to join our academic team. The role combines classroom teaching with academic support and administrative tasks, totaling about 22.5–25 hours per week.

Responsibilities include teaching adults, collaborating with faculty, assisting with curriculum and assessments, and supporting day-to-day operations. This is a long-term part-time position with a consistent schedule each semester and

Qualifications

• Master’s degree required, preferably in TESOL, Applied Linguistics, Education, Second Language Acquisition, English, or related field.
• Minimum one year of adult ESL/EFL teaching experience.
• Experience mentoring or supervising instructors preferred.
• Strong communication, organization, classroom-management, and problem-solving skills.
• Comfortable using educational technology and learning-management systems.
• Must be able to work in person in Huntingdon Valley, PA.

Responsibilities

• Teach ESL courses to adult international and domestic students.
• Prepare and deliver lessons appropriate to assigned courses and levels.
• Work closely with faculty and provide day-to-day academic support.
• Assist with curriculum, assessments, instructional materials, and academic procedures.
• Help coordinate common assessments and maintain academic materials and records.
• Assist with educational technology and learning-management systems.
• Support school leadership with academic projects, substitute coverage, and accreditation-related requirements as needed.
