Job summary

The YWCA Tri-County Area (YW3CA) is seeking an ESL instructor for an advanced ESL class in Pottstown, PA. This part-time role includes 8 hours per week plus paid planning time and uses a web-based platform for instruction.

The candidate should have a bachelor’s degree, strong computer skills, and an interest in serving adults from diverse backgrounds. Spanish language ability is a plus; training will be provided.

Qualifications

• Minimum of bachelor’s degree required.
• Ability to speak and understand Spanish a plus.
• Experience working with adults in education or related fields.

Responsibilities

• Support ESL learners in listening, speaking, writing, and reading the English language.
• Develops a student-engagement learning environment with students actively engaged in group as well as individual activities.
• Engages students in communication activities that help further their skills on the job and within the community.
• Comfortable working with adults whose experiences are other than the American culture.
• Empowers others with a heart-felt message of support.
• Understands the principles of acquiring a second language and teaching adult learners.
