Job summary

Allied Universal in Somerset, NJ is seeking a Security Officer – Enhanced Part Time Unarmed Patrol Response. This flexible role offers reliable, fixed hours at an assigned site with the option to pick-up additional shifts through our scheduling platform to increase earnings and gain experience across multiple sites.

The position pays $23.00 per hour with a Friday 2:00 PM – 10:00 PM anchor shift and opportunities to grow toward a full-time schedule up to 40 hours per week.

Qualifications

• At least 2 years of security-related experience.
• State, county, or city-issued security license preferred.
• CPR/First Aid certification preferred.
• Customer service experience preferred.
• Must be at least 18 years old for unarmed roles; 21+ for armed roles.
• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Background check in accordance with federal, state and local laws.
• Drug screen required where permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements depend on state/local laws and regulations.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to employees, visitors, contractors, and vendors at a technology, media, and telecommunications location by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and emergency response activities when appropriate.
• Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of the facility, perimeter, parking areas, access points, and critical infrastructure areas to deter unauthorized activity and identify security-related concerns.
• Monitor access control points, visitor activity, and alarm or camera systems, documenting observations and reporting unusual conditions to site leadership and Allied Universal supervision.
• Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, professional, problem-solving manner, following post orders and escalation protocols.
• Complete accurate daily activity reports, incident reports, and shift documentation, and communicate relevant security-related information to incoming personnel and management.
