Job summary

VEG in Clearwater, FL is seeking a part-time Emergency Veterinary Assistant to join from day one, supporting your team, comforting pet parents, and learning the ropes in real time. You’ll be involved in triage, treatments, and the flow of care in a fast-paced ER environment.

You’ll assist with nursing care, diagnostics, anesthesia setup, and monitoring, with guided training pathways to grow toward credentialed technician roles.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• 1+ years in veterinary assistant role (emergency or specialty experience is a bonus).
• Willing to work in a noisy environment with strong odors.

Responsibilities

• Be the first warm welcome and triage incoming patients, guiding them toward care.
• Assist with treatments, nursing care, and diagnostics.
• Set up and monitor anesthesia and sedation cases with qualified staff.
• Set up and manage IV fluids, blood products, and medication administration.
• Support care in outpatient or inpatient settings, from exam room to treatment area.
• Participate in rounds to stay aligned with the clinical picture.
