Job summary

Watertown Police Department seeks a part-time 911 Dispatcher - Telecommunicator to fill an opening and establish an eligibility list. Starting pay is $27.20 per hour; part-time benefits are not offered.

Responsibilities include staffing AM/PM shifts, operating the radio console, and processing emergency communications with accuracy and composure. Applicants must meet strict qualifications and complete training after hire.

Qualifications

• U.S. citizen, 18+, with a valid Wisconsin driver’s license.
• High School diploma or HSED equivalent.
• Prior Police Dispatch Experience required.
• Able to keyboard/type at high competency; ability to obtain emergency dispatch certification as approved by state.
• Must complete each recruitment stage and the dispatch field training program after hire.

Responsibilities

• Fill in on an as-needed basis for AM and PM dispatch shifts.
• Operate sending–receiving radio console.
• Make accurate decisions quickly and remain calm under pressure in emergencies.
• Complete dispatch field training after hire.
