Job summary

City of Watertown is hiring a Full-Time 911 Dispatcher/Telecommunicator in the Police Department. This position requires night, holiday, and weekend work with a Pitman schedule pattern (2 days on/2 off, 3 on/2 off, 2 on/3 off).

The ideal candidate will be US citizen, 18+, and hold a Wisconsin driver’s license. Starting pay is $27.20 per hour plus a comprehensive benefits package including health, dental, and vision insurance, paid holidays, vacation, sick leave, and Wisconsin Retirement System

Qualifications

• Be able to work nights, holidays, and weekends; 12-hour Pitman schedule pattern.
• US citizen, 18+, valid Wisconsin driver's license.
• High School diploma or GED; Associate's degree or higher preferred; prior dispatch experience optional.

Responsibilities

• Operate sending-receiving radio console and dispatch equipment.
• Make accurate decisions quickly in emergency situations.
• Speak clearly and concisely, remain calm and control in emergencies.
• Interact with the public in a courteous and tactful manner.
