Job summary

Catholic Charities of Northeast Kansas is seeking a part-time English Language Learning (ELL) instructor to support refugees, immigrants, migrants, and community members at Wyandotte County and nearby sites. The role involves evening classes, attendance tracking, student records, enrollments, and collaboration with staff.

Responsibilities include teaching 5–8 sections weekly, coordinating with the Program Coordinator, training volunteers, and ensuring program compliance while working in person

Qualifications

• Classroom teaching experience; early literacy preferred.
• Experience working with refugees desired.
• Fluency in English; multilingual ability a plus.

Responsibilities

• Teach 5–8 sections weekly of ELL classes for adults; classes 60–90 minutes; up to 15 students each.
• Enroll new participants; schedule sessions; maintain attendance and records.
• Prepare and adapt curriculum; support staff; work in person and remotely as needed.
• Train volunteers; support with orientations; coordinate with Program Coordinator.
• Occasional travel to offsite locations; evening availability required.
