Hello Neighbor in Pittsburgh, PA is seeking a full-time English Language instructor for adult refugee students. The role teaches a full English course load, creates engaging lessons, and develops curriculum; coordinates field learning, recruits volunteers, and maintains documentation.

The position requires TESOL/TEFL certification, 1+ year classroom experience, flexibility for nights/weekends, and authorization to work in the United States.

Qualifications

• TESOL/TEFL certification is preferred.
• At least 1 year of classroom experience.
• Ability to teach across multiple course levels, including students with limited literacy.

Responsibilities

• Teach a full English language course for adult refugee students.
• Create engaging lessons and relevant materials.
• Prepare class materials and expand curricula.
• Organize and coordinate student field learning opportunities.
• Schedule and enroll new students in coordination with supervisor.
• Recruit and train volunteers and tutors to support classes.
• Maintain student attendance, assessments, and case notes.
• Lead orientation sessions for mentors supporting refugees.
