Savista is seeking an Eligibility Specialist I (Part-Time) to assist patients at UF Health Durbin Park and UF Health St. John’s locations in St. Augustine, FL.

You will assess eligibility for Medicaid, Medicare, disability, and hospital charity programs, guiding families through complex applications with empathy and clarity. Ideal candidates have 1+ year of customer-facing experience, strong organizational skills, and the ability to navigate multiple systems while ensuring accurate documentation

Qualifications

• 1+ years of experience in a customer-facing role (healthcare or financial counseling preferred).
• Strong organization skills with ability to manage multiple priorities and maintain accuracy.
• Tech-savvy; able to use multiple software systems and platforms.

Responsabilités

• Serve as a patient advocate, meeting with patients in-person to assess eligibility for financial assistance programs.
• Engage patients via phone to facilitate cooperation and complete screenings and documentation.
• Guide patients through Medicaid, Medicare, disability, and hospital charity care applications with timely submission of required documentation.
• Collaborate with hospital staff and government agencies to secure coverage and resolve eligibility.
• Manage a high caseload with prioritization, follow-ups, and deadlines while maintaining productivity and quality.
• Explain financial responsibilities and assistance options clearly and empathetically.
• Maintain confidential records in HIPAA-compliant systems.
• Support operational needs, including staffing coverage at nearby locations as needed.
