Job summary

Calex-Sports-Inc is seeking an Elementary Tennis Coach and PE Teacher to join our Bay Area program. This in-person, part-time role provides 1–1.5 hour classes offered weekdays with a total of 2–5 hours per week, fostering fun tennis classes for Grades K-3 across local elementary schools.

You'll manage classes of 8–16 children (ages 5–10) using provided lesson plans, attend a brief training, transport equipment, and communicate with parents.

Qualifications

• Must be 19+ years old upon application.
• Previous teaching or playing experience in tennis is preferred but not required.
• USPTA/PTR certification is preferred but not required.
• Enjoy working with kids and managing a class in a professional manner.
• Flexibility, reliability, punctuality, and a professional, enthusiastic approach.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills.
• Carry a resilient, positive attitude.
• Ability to work independently and within a small team.
• Have reliable transportation throughout the East and South Bay and Peninsula.
• Willingness to undergo a live scan background check prior to working.

Responsibilities

• Can manage a class size of 8 - 16 students with ages ages 5-10 years old
• Teach the tennis class using provided lesson plans.
• Attend a two-day training/shadowing session to familiarize yourself with the program.
• Transport tennis equipment to and from class and set up the necessary equipment.
• Take attendance and sign in and sign out students for each class.
• Interact with parents and school office staff when needed.
• Provide feedback for each student by the end of the session.
• Capture a few pictures each session of kids in action.
