Job summary

Poway Unified School District seeks a part-time Student Services Assistant to support elementary students with behavioral and social skills. Work 3 hours daily, 15 hours per week, 9.5 months. Not a benefited position; placement at Step 6 of the salary range for this classification.

Under supervision, assist in tutoring, monitoring activities, and delivering social-emotional learning modules. Some duties involve reporting safety concerns and clerical support.

Qualifications

• One year of experience working with children in an organized setting.
• Ability to provide student support and report sensitive issues.
• Assist students with behavioral and social skill development.

Responsibilities

• Assist with presentation of behavioral learning modules and small group tutoring.
• Monitor students during out-of-classroom activities and groups.
• Conduct training meetings and reinforce reflective listening skills.
• Present research-based whole class lessons on social/emotional and anti-bullying topics.
• Notify counselors/administrators about safety or welfare concerns.
• Maintain records and assist in program documentation.
• Perform clerical tasks and manage supplies as needed.
