Job summary

Williamson Central School District is seeking a probationary monitor for the Elementary School. Shift 9:30am to 3:30pm, start 1.4.27. You will supervise students in cafeterias, playgrounds, hallways and classrooms, helping maintain a constructive and safe environment.

The ideal candidate has a High School diploma, genuine interest in working with students, and the ability to supervise and record accurately. All Civil Service requirements apply.

Qualifications

• The ability to supervise, manage and control students in a variety of situations.
• The ability to write and/or keep accurate records.

Responsibilities

• Monitors and supervises students in cafeterias, playgrounds, hallways, foyer or classrooms.
• Maintains a constructive learning environment.
• Maintains a safe and orderly environment during playground, lunch periods and study halls.
• Enforces playground rules, cafeteria dining, and conduct expectations.
• Collaborates with the Building Principal and teachers to ensure expected student behavior.
• Safely supervise students during daily activities and events.
• Assist in attendance duties.
• Carry out other duties as assigned by the principal or teachers.

Job description

A probationary monitor positionin the ElementarySchool. 9:30am - 3:30pm. Start 1.4.27.

1. Monitorsand supervises students in a variety of settings including but not limited to the cafeteria, playgrounds, hallways, foyer or classrooms.
2. Maintains a constructive learning environment when working in the classroom/study hall/detention room settings.
3. Maintains a safe and orderly environment for our students while on the playgrounds, in the cafeteria, study halls and hallways.
4. Follows and enforces the rules set forth for playground behavior, proper use of playground equipment, dinning in the cafeteria, study halls, detention centers, etc.
5. Works cooperatively with the Building Principal and teachers to be aware of expectations for student’s behavior.
6. Safely supervise students during their daily playground, lunch periods and study halls.
7. Carries out any other duties as assigned by the building principal and/or responsibilities, which may be deemed appropriate by the classroom teachers.
