Job summary

Garden Grove Unified School District is seeking an instructional aide to support students in reading, writing, and math under the supervision of a certificated teacher. The role involves working with individuals or small groups during school hours in elementary and secondary settings.

Ideal candidates have a high school diploma and some experience with youth; an associate degree is desirable. The position emphasizes student safety, classroom management, and collaboration with school staff.

Qualifications

• High school diploma and some experience working with young people are required.
• An associate’s degree is highly desirable.
• Meeting ESSA requirements can be through an associate’s degree or 48 semester units.

Responsibilities

• Supports student instruction and assessment by working with students individually or in small groups, as directed by the teacher.
• Implements and modifies curriculum such as learning materials and activities, as directed by the teacher.
• Assists teacher in scoring tests, recording grades, and charting student progress.
• Operates classroom equipment including audio/visual devices and classroom technology.
• Attends trainings and meetings for the purpose of conveying and gathering information.
