Job summary

Roy Elementary is seeking a Part-Time Elementary Aide to support teachers with instruction and supervision for students. The role emphasizes recess and lunchroom supervision, reading and math interventions, and general classroom assistance.

The position runs 180 days per year and follows the district salary schedule. Starting date is immediate, with non-exempt status and limited benefits.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• Previous related experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assists in the preparation of instructional materials.
• Assists in the instruction of students and other classroom activities as needed.
• May tutor students individually or in small groups under the direction of the teacher.
• Assists with physical and emotional maintenance of students with disabilities including assessing curriculum and participating in school or classroom activities.
• Assist students needing supplemental help with various school subjects and programs.
• Assist in the administration of a variety of tests and monitor students’ academic progress.
• Keeps accurate data on assigned students or groups of students.
• Supports a school environment that helps students develop and maintain a positive self-concept.
• Support classroom behavior management to maintain a positive and focused learning environment.
• Maintains professional confidentiality regarding student information.
