Job summary

Timken is seeking a dedicated and knowledgeable part-time Electrical Technician to join our Professional Experience Program. This role supports the development, design, and implementation of manufacturing electrical designs and projects, helping advance our motion technology.

You will assist engineers with electrical assembly, wiring, testing, and troubleshooting, perform preventive maintenance, and ensure safety protocols are followed while gaining hands-on experience in a global industrial

Qualifications

Must be enrolled in an accredited college, university, or technical school (undergraduate or relevant post‑secondary programs).
Minimum cumulative GPA of 2.8 or higher.
Ability to commit to the program schedule and comply with safety and confidentiality requirements.
Proven experience in technical training, instructional design, or a related field.
Strong communication and presentation skills; capable of engaging diverse audiences.
Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.

Responsibilities

Assist with electrical assembly, wiring, installation, and test per drawings.
Diagnose and troubleshoot electrical systems and control issues; escalate when needed.
Perform preventive maintenance on control panels and wiring; document actions.
Collaborate with engineers to validate fixes and update schematics.
Adhere to safety protocols including lockout/tagout and recordkeeping.
