Job summary

John Deere in Silvis, IL seeks a Part-Time Student Electrical Systems Engineer to support design of complex electronic systems for Seeding and Tillage equipment. The role runs year-round with onsite work and requires active enrollment as a full-time student at a local university.

Responsibilities include assisting in electrical system modules, ensuring configurations are well understood, and creating design specifications for internal and supplier teams. VISA sponsorship is not available.

Qualifications

• Currently enrolled as a full-time student at a local accredited university.
• Begins Spring 2027 or later; GPA 2.8+ is preferred.
• Available to work 10–20+ hours/week during the academic year.
• Available to work 30–40 hours/week during the summer.

Responsibilities

• Assist electrical system modules for CI, PDP or Value Stream activities.
• Help ensure configurations and common requirements are understood.
• Support problem-solving and resolution of electrical issues on new and current products.
• Create electrical design specifications for internal and supplier teams.
