Job summary

Carey Services, Inc is seeking an Assistant Cook to support the EHS Cook, preparing and serving meals in a clean, safe, and caring environment. You will assist with transporting meals between sites and support occasional classroom or event needs.

The role involves working as part of a team to maintain nutrition guidelines, safety, and documentation, with an emphasis on serving infants and toddlers in a licensed program.

Qualifications

• Must have Serve Safe Certification or be willing to obtain it.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to communicate effectively, both written and verbal.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and serve meals and snacks meeting developmental and allergy needs.
• Ensure meals meet CACFP/state/federal guidelines.
• Use family-style serving and assist with classroom activities when needed.
• Maintain dietary/allergy records and temperature logs.
• Inspect kitchen and storage for safety and compliance.
• Transport meals between Hartford City and Marion sites.
• Support classroom needs, events, and parent group activities.
