Job summary

Right At School in Metamora, IL is hiring Educators to work directly with kids in before/after school programs. You’ll lead activities, facilitate a safe and structured environment, and build relationships that shape children’s futures.

Pay up to $18 per hour, with hours Monday to Friday 7:00–8:00 am and 3:00–5:30 pm. This role offers growth within a mission‑driven organization, on‑site school work, and benefits for staff.

Qualifications

• At least 1 year of experience working with children under 13.
• Comfortable leading groups of children in activities and games.
• Outstanding customer service and communication with both children and adults.
• Reliable and punctual; able to commit to a consistent part‑time schedule.
• Ability to lift 25 lbs. and stand, walk, bend, and kneel throughout a shift.
• Comfortable working independently and as part of a team.
• Flexibility to support additional program locations if needed.

Responsibilities

• Greet and check in students at the start of each session; take attendance and maintain accurate records.
• Plan and lead daily activities, games, and enrichment lessons appropriate for the age group you're working with.
• Facilitate homework time and support with academic tasks as needed.
• Supervise students during free play, snack time, and transitions, ensuring a safe and structured environment.
• Address minor conflicts or behavior issues using positive guidance techniques.
• Communicate with parents/guardians at pick-up and drop-off regarding their child's day.
• Report incidents, injuries, or safety concerns to your Program Manager or site lead promptly; log incident reports.
• Set up and clean up program space and materials each day.
• Attend brief daily team meetings to coordinate with other staff.

Position Details

Pay Rate: Up to $18.00 per hour (based on education & experience)

Program Hours: Monday - Friday, 7:00 am - 8:00 am and 3:00 pm - 5:30 pm*

Illinois State Requirements

• First Aid and hands‑on CPR
• Cleared tuberculosis (TB) test
• Food Handlers Card
• Proof of MMR
• 18+ years of age
• Proof of High School diploma/GED required
• Background Check with fingerprinting
