Job summary

Right At School is seeking an Educator to join our Germantown Hills School District program in Illinois. You’ll greet students, lead activities, support homework, and maintain a safe, structured environment before and after school.

The role offers part-time, school-based hours with opportunities to work with a supportive team, gain hands-on education experience, and contribute to a positive learning community.

Qualifications

• At least 1 year of experience working with children under 13
• Comfortable leading groups of children in activities
• Outstanding customer service and communication skills with both children and adults
• Reliable and punctual; able to commit to a consistent part-time schedule
• Ability to lift 25 lbs and stand, walk, bend, and kneel throughout a shift
• Comfortable working independently and as part of a team
• Flexibility to support additional program locations if needed

Responsibilities

• Greet and check in students at the start of each session; take attendance and maintain accurate records
• Plan and lead daily activities, games, and enrichment lessons appropriate for the age group you’re working with
• Facilitate homework time and support with academic tasks as needed
• Supervise students during free play, snack time, and transitions, ensuring a safe and structured environment
• Address minor conflicts or behavior issues using positive guidance techniques
• Communicate with parents/guardians at pick‑up and drop‑off regarding their child’s day
• Report incidents, injuries, or safety concerns to your Program Manager or site lead promptly; log incident reports
• Set up and clean up program space and materials each day
• Attend brief daily team meetings to coordinate with other staff

Position Details

Pay Rate: Up to $18.00 per hour (based on education & experience)

Program Hours: Monday - Friday, 6:30 am - 8:15 am and 3:00 pm - 6:00 pm* *Hours may vary per individual school

What You’ll Do

Illinois Requirements

• First Aid and hands‑on CPR
• Cleared tuberculosis (TB) test
• Food Handlers Card
• Proof of MMR
• 18+ years of age
• Proof of High School diploma/GED required
• Background Check with fingerprinting
