Job summary

Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Oxnard and Port Hueneme is seeking a Paraprofessional to assist in classrooms for students with physical, mental, and developmental delays. The role involves supporting instruction under supervision, preparing materials, and helping students in small groups or individually.

Responsibilities include attendance, organizing displays, maintaining a safe environment, and assisting with health-related student needs.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• One year of experience with school-age children preferred.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and work in a classroom setting.

Responsibilities

• Under direct supervision, supports classroom operations and supervises students.
• Prepares instructional materials for lessons.
• Assists students individually and in small groups.
• Maintains orderly reference materials and displays.
• May take attendance and help keep records.
• Supports student health and personal care as needed.
• Maintains clean and organized learning spaces.
• Performs general clerical duties as assigned.
