YM & YWHA of Washington Heights and Inwood is seeking an Education Coordinator to support the Education Department for a preschool program serving 120+ children aged two through five. The role focuses on afternoon and Extended Day programming, assisting teachers, families, and administrative tasks to keep the program running smoothly.

The ideal candidate brings warmth, creativity, and teamwork. A Bachelor's degree is required, with NY State Teacher Certification preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree required.
• Master's Degree in related field preferred.
• New York State Teacher Certification (Birth-Grade 2 or equivalent) required.

Responsabilités

• Support the Managing Director with day-to-day needs of the Education Department during afternoon and Extended Day programming.
• Provide support to teachers and staff with classroom needs, questions, and day-to-day program needs.
• Help ensure Extended Day programming runs smoothly and that children and families have a positive experience.
• Assist with communication with families, including answering questions, sharing information, and helping address concerns as needed.
• Help maintain a welcoming, inclusive, and supportive environment for children, families, and staff.
• Support teachers with classroom materials, resources, and curriculum-related needs.
• Assist with maintaining program records, forms, and other educational documentation.
• Support teachers with child observations, assessments, and developmental documentation as needed.
• Assist with program activities, family events, staff meetings, and other Education Department initiatives.

Bachelor's Degree
