YM & YWHA of Washington Heights & Inwood is seeking an Education Coordinator to support the Managing Director of Early Childhood Education and the Education Department for a preschool program serving 120+ children aged two to five.

The role is part-time, primarily afternoons with Extended Day programming, and focuses on assisting teachers, children, and families while handling administrative tasks.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree required; Master's Degree preferred.
• Two years early childhood education teaching experience preferred.
• New York State Teacher Certification (Birth-Grade 2 or equivalent) required.

Responsibilities

• Support the Managing Director with day-to-day needs of the Education Department during afternoon and Extended Day programming.
• Assist teachers and staff with classroom needs and day-to-day program questions.
• Help ensure Extended Day runs smoothly and that children and families have a positive experience.
• Assist with family communications and addressing concerns as needed.
• Maintain a welcoming, inclusive environment for children, families and staff.
• Support teachers with classroom materials, resources, and curriculum needs.
• Maintain program records and educational documentation.
• Assist with observations and developmental documentation.
• Help with program activities, family events, staff meetings, and other initiatives.
