Job summary

Boys & Girls Clubs of Chicago is seeking an Education Coordinator to implement and manage a comprehensive educational enhancement program. Also, enhances and promotes home-school-Club linkages, partnerships and parent involvement opportunities.

The EducationCoordinator role emphasizes literacy development, collaboration with area schools, and staff training. It requires a four-year degree (or equivalent) with 2–3 years of youth experience, and CPR/First Aid within 90 days of hire.

Qualifications

• Four-year degree or equivalent experience.
• 2-3 years experience working with youth.
• Knowledge of education and curriculum development.
• Experience planning and supervising youth activities.
• Mandated reporter duties awareness.
• Excellent written and verbal communication.
• Demonstrate integrity and professionalism.
• Organizational and project management abilities.
• CPR and First Aid certification within 90 days.

Responsibilities

• Plan, organize, implement and evaluate an educational program for youth 6-18.
• Monitor and record outcomes from participant involvement.
• Train volunteers and staff to run programs.
• Encourage tutors from high-performing students with GPAs.
• Develop theme-based projects to promote learning.
• Coordinate with area schools and involve parents.
• Recruit members for participation and liaise with teachers.
