Job summary

ACES, in partnership with Ansonia Public Schools, is seeking Educational Assistants in Ansonia, CT to support teachers and students. The role involves working with individuals or small groups, assisting with instruction, monitoring, and material organization, and ensuring a safe, orderly learning environment.

This part-time, hourly position emphasizes collaboration, dependability, and respect for diverse learners.

Qualifications

• Some college preferred with a focus on education. High School Diploma/GED will be considered with experience.
• Ability to follow behavior plans/procedures.
• Ability to work well with students, staff and parents in a professional manner.
• Experience working in all school settings. Collaboration, organization and teamwork skills.

Responsibilities

• Assists the teacher with instruction support, student monitoring and material organization.
• Assists students during transitions and supervises during class assignments.
• Assists with supervision of students during emergency drills, assemblies, play periods, field trips, and instructional activities.
• Ensure the learning environment is clean and safe.
• Reports observations to lead teacher.
