Job summary

ACES seeks Educational Assistants to support students in Ansonia Public Schools, Ansonia, CT. You will assist teachers, monitor students, and help maintain a safe learning environment in a part-time role with flexible school hours.

You will work with students individually or in small groups, report observations to the lead teacher, and contribute to a collaborative school setting with ongoing instruction and professional growth opportunities.

Qualifications

• Some college preferred with a focus on education.
• High School Diploma or GED will be considered with experience.
• Ability to follow behavior plans/procedures.
• Ability to work well with students, staff and parents in a professional manner.
• Experience working in all school settings.
• Collaboration, organization and teamwork skills.

Responsibilities

• Assists the teacher with instruction support, student monitoring and material organization.
• Assists students during transitions and supervises during class assignments.
• Assists with supervision of students during emergency drills, assemblies, play periods, field trips, and instructional activities.
• Ensure the learning environment is clean and safe.
• Reports observations to lead teacher.
